Course Description: This rigorous college-preparatory elective science course includes a detailed study of many human body systems. Homeostatic balance, the relationship between structure and function, and the interrelationships between body systems are a focus throughout the class. This course is recommended for students interested in a health-related career, especially those who plan to study medicine, nursing, physical therapy, and athletic training. |

The course may also be helpful for those students who plan to enter education as either a life science or physical education teacher. Laboratory activities will include several microscopic analyses of tissue specimens as well as several dissections to accompany the subject matter.

A "Google Classroom" has been set up for this class. It is a "learning management system" that provides an interactive and online component to physical classes. Students can ask questions, receive help, and even submit homework through this program. Many of the class materials will be distributed electronically through Google Classroom and either printed off or accessed through a internet connected phone, tablet, or computer.
