Course Description
This course is an introductory course in the physical and environmental sciences. The topics include: measurement, atmosphere, astronomy and planetary sciences, geology, ecology, and pollution. Students will familiarize themselves with experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory techniques by studying various units. The class will explore various environmental problems, and the students will create a research plan to explore one of them and carry it out under the guidance of the teacher.

To the right is an introductory video that visually describes what Earth Science is about. It is important to keep in mind that this video portrays the most widely accepted scientific theories found in the Earth sciences.

Google Classroom
A "Google Classroom" has been set up for this class. It is a "learning management system" that provides an interactive and online component to physical classes. Students can ask questions, receive help, and even submit homework through this program. Many of the class materials will be distributed electronically through Google Classroom and either printed off or accessed through a internet connected phone, tablet, or computer.
